FreeBSD installed yesterday, but not a lot of progress on it. Not sure I've got more than an install to scratch the itch in me.
Instead, got sidetracked onto Ruby on Rails learning. I have a couple of ideas in my head where I want to prove out some concepts before building a couple of projects, which is why I'm back on RoR.
The limitations of brain space and time are... confining.
Still, it's one of those learning opportunities. I have spun up a VM with a ruby pristine environment on it, and have spent a bit of time working through things:
1) Ruby install
2) Ruby on Rails install
3) git repository creation
4) remote repo clone / management
5) lots of note-y stuff in between.
Also did some minor reorganizing of my work environment, moved my laptop up next to my 21" monitor for home development so that it's all one level. This sounds like a small thing, but it really does make a difference.
GMail is a terrible webapp: 2GB of memory. Moving over to Thunderbird makes that a little less annoying.
